Sun Island Maldives

sun island maldivesPlanning your first trip to Maldives for a honeymoon or a romantic sojourn?

Maldives is paradise in the Indian ocean and it is the place where you can actually relax.

Do not miss going to Male - though it is a city it is quite laid-back but still worthwhile going to see how the locals live.

maldives sunsetIf you are into diving there are a few good diving sites near to the island.

Maldives is made up of many islands but one of the islands you must see is Huraa Island. It is not so crowded with tourist and you can experience the Maldivian life as it is.

If you are planning a day trip to any of the islands, Rashdoo Island is an established island and its sheltered lagoon is great for water sports and snorkeling.

Fly to Barcelona

Published by First Time Visitors under Barcelona, Spain

map of spainThere are 2 options if you are a first time visitor in Spain:

  • find a bit of every part of Spain in Madrid
  • choose Barcelona : the capital of the north

bouganvillaMyself I arrived by plane in Barcelona. There are a lot of cheap flights to Barcelona,
I opted for via RyanAir.

After settling down in Barcelona and doing some shopping in this cozy city, I opted to rent a car.

A rented car gives you the freedom to visit places along the coast of the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada. If you drive more inland, you come across an abundant amount of castles. And we had the pleasure to rent a cheap room in a beautiful villa surrounded by bouganvilla.

But the most convenient about choosing Barcelona is when the weather in Spain is too hot for you, you can drive up north to the cool and amazing scenic hills more north between the Spanish and French border!

New Zealand Kayaking

New Zealand KayakingMy first time as a visitor to New Zealand was in the summer of 2004. We were there in January and the days were long and hot. It was not uncomfortably hot and some times in the day it can get to a comfortable 23 degrees centigrade (Fahrenheit).

As our visit was short, we visited Lake Wanaka and had time to soak up lots of summer sunshine and also indulged in various watersports like white water rafting, canoeing trips, kayak trips and waterskiing. A little mishap during our kayak tour saw both of us landing in the water and that was a little silly as I panicked and did not realize for a quick moment that I had a life vest as obligatory part of my kayak gear… There I was thrashing around the water like an idiot before I realized that hey, I can still breathe..:)

We also visited Mount Aspiring National Park and the views were spectacular. Mount Aspiring rises sheer above the glaciers and the view was breathtaking.

We definitely will be returning to New Zealand to see more of the country.
