New Zealand Kayaking
My first time as a visitor to New Zealand was in the summer of 2004. We were there in January and the days were long and hot. It was not uncomfortably hot and some times in the day it can get to a comfortable 23 degrees centigrade (Fahrenheit).
As our visit was short, we visited Lake Wanaka and had time to soak up lots of summer sunshine and also indulged in various watersports like white water rafting, canoeing trips, kayak trips and waterskiing. A little mishap during our kayak tour saw both of us landing in the water and that was a little silly as I panicked and did not realize for a quick moment that I had a life vest as obligatory part of my kayak gear… There I was thrashing around the water like an idiot before I realized that hey, I can still breathe..:)
We also visited Mount Aspiring National Park and the views were spectacular. Mount Aspiring rises sheer above the glaciers and the view was breathtaking.
We definitely will be returning to New Zealand to see more of the country.
